the story of cummins lane
From its original conception to the time we opened, there has been nothing but positivity towards us establishing a new Jewellery shop here in Corowa. Given that in past days, our shop was originally a Jewellers by the name of J.M.Irwin has a nice synergy to us returning the shop to once again, supply and service Corowa and the surrounding areas Jewellery needs.
We have been asked "where is Cummins Lane" in Corowa. Of course there is no Cummins Lane as our name has been derived from the last names of our Jeweller, Brett Cummins and our main proprietor, Stephen Lane. We look forward to you finding us at 104 Sanger Street and seeing that we really are, your first destination in Jewellery.
THE DIRECTOR and the PROPRiETOR
The Cummins family passion for jewellery was established by Ron Cummins in Lavington in the 1960’s.It didn’t take long for
the next generation to be inspired by the trade, with son Brett joining his father as an apprentice jewellery manufacturer and repairer at the age of 16. It’s clear Brett has a clever eye for design and creation, winning an Australian Jewellery Design Award in 2004 for a diamond ring. Since then he’s been consulted by jewellery manufacturers and repairers around the world, while retaining a loyal following of regional clients. The next chapter in the Cummins family dynasty continues with Brett’s new retail space and workshop, here at Cummins Lane.
Stephen is the quite achiever of the group and is originally from Sydney. He moved down to Corowa 7 years ago just to see if he would like living in the country and has not looked back. He has worked in the industry as a Sales agent and wholesales for over 16 years and brings with him a wealth of knowledge on all things jewellery related. Working as it were on the other side of the bench now, Stephen is looking forward to helping all our customers with their sales needs. If its not in our showcase, he will do his upmost to source and get it for you at the best price.
